Friday Night Lights, from 7pm-9pm on a Fall Friday across the country, football teams lay all they have on the line for the spoils of victory or the potential hardship of defeat….but is that all that matters for a program?

At Danville, we believe that there is much more to Friday Night Lights, than meets the eye!

The first goal for our student-athletes is to always “WIN” in the classroom. As athletes, someday we will be unable to continue to play the sport we love, but we also know that what we do with the time that we have, will make all the difference once our careers have finished. Learning and competing within our classrooms, will do nothing but set us up for success, later in life.

The second goal of our program is to “WIN” in the community. As a program, we understand the platform that we have. It is our goal, to find ways to give back, and to improve the lives of those around us. Prior to the start of games, we take a moment of silence to appreciate the people within our lives that have allowed us the opportunity to be where we are today. We know that for any person to be successful, they must lean on those around them and in turn do all that they can to lift them up.

Finally, as a program, our third goal is to “WIN” on the field of play. This goal takes care of itself if we achieve goal number one and goal number two. Committing to the process of being an outstanding student, and developing into servant leaders will lead down the path of success for athletic achievements on the field of play.

As we move through the seasons of life, we remind ourselves that the process of finding success is much more important than the single moment of victory. We are defined not by a single moment of life, but by the impact that we had on the lives of those around us, and the integrity of the process we took along the journey.
