    Understanding Domestic Violence

Our most popular presentation, Understanding Domestic Violence, provides an overview of domestic violence, with definitions and statistics, explanations of the different types of abuse, the power and control model, signs of abuse, reasons victims stay, effects on children, barriers to leaving, resources available, characteristics of safe, healthy relationships and more. (This training can be tailored to the needs and time constraints of the audience)

    Domestic Violence & the Workplace

We provide in-service presentations at companies and business organizations about domestic abuse, signs that an employee is in an unsafe relationship, and steps to take when abuse is suspected. This presentation examines the impact of an employee facing domestic violence at home through lost wages, increased insurance claims, workers compensation, liability, job performance, and more.  It also offers sound advice on helping employees and protecting businesses. (This can be tailored for any amount of time)

    Church Leadership

Many pastors and lay leaders haven’t been trained in the best ways to respond when they learn that a church member is the victim of abuse, or when they suspect abuse may be affecting a family in the congregation. This presentation is designed for the unique needs of churches and faith-based organizations, providing an overview of domestic violence and practical strategies to help abuse victims. (This can be tailored for any amount of time)

    Teen Dating Violence

Ideal for parents, schools, and youth groups, this customized interactive program explains the dynamics of teen dating abuse by encouraging teens to pursue and maintain healthy relationships, identify types and signs of potential abuse, and steps to take to help teens exit relationships safely. (This can be tailored for any amount of time)

    Asset Builder Training

Domestic violence is a public health issue that can be prevented through environmental, social and systemic change.  Preventing first-time occurrences of violence before it happens –focuses on reducing risk factors and increasing protective factors.  The Developmental Assets are researched based positive qualities that help young people develop into successful, contributing adults.  Rooted in positive youth development, resiliency and thriving potential the Assets framework has proven to be effective time and again in increasing the protective factors and reducing those risk factors that contribute to domestic violence.  This training is ideal for any member of the community and benefits everyone. (This is a 4 hour training.)

    Trauma Resilience Training

Based on the research and framework from the Community Resilience Trauma Initiative understanding and having a base knowledge of ACE’s and resilience enables communities the opportunity to eliminate, reduce and buffer the effects of trauma. Resilience science utilizes the KISS (Knowledge, Insight, Strategies, Structure) framework as a strategy for building capacity within your organizations that will best equip your team to respond to and prevent the trauma the comes as a result of domestic violence and other adverse experiences.  (Training is 4-6 hours and can be customized to your needs)

    Understanding Adverse Childhood Experience’s (ACE’s)

Learn how the Adverse Childhood Experience’s (ACE’s) impact growth, development and long term health of individuals.  Childhood trauma leads to toxic stress which can damage the developing brain and body of a child as well as affect overall health.  ACE’s can have an impact on the cycle of violence and future instances of violence.  (This training is 1 hour and can be customized to your needs)
