How do I become a recurring volunteer?

We love the men, women and youth who volunteer with us on a regular basis. They are an indispensable part of our team. Here’s what to do if you’d like to volunteer regularly:

1. Start the process by clicking “Join” below to fill out a volunteer application. This will prompt you to make an account in POINT, our volunteer database.

2. We will review your submission and provide you with upcoming training dates.

3. Attend volunteer training and complete required screenings. (A background check and drug screen are required for everyone over the age of 18. Fingerprint screening is required for anyone interested in working with minors.)

4. Check your emails regularly to hear from our team on the status of your application and how to stay involved until your screening reports come back.

5. Begin volunteering! Once you get the green light, you can log in to POINT, where your settings will be updated to see all of our private opportunities at the Center.

Because we are committed to our residents’ safety, we screen all who volunteer on an ongoing basis, especially those who will work with residents. In alignment with VOCA & ICJI Policies, background checks will be resubmitted every two years, and fingerprint screens will be resubmitted every five years.
