The Oxford Dictionary defines ‘A Man of Action’ as, “A man whose life is characterized by physical activity or deeds rather than by words.”
So, what does this look like?
- Have a ‘noble purpose’ that guides your actions…your personal mission statement.

- Mine for example: “Bringing people together to advance their lives.”
- Be a possibility thinker.

- Why it WILL work.
- Execute on your ideas…don’t wait for others to act.
- Look for places to act.

- Be strong for others who can’t be strong.
- Be there for someone when nobody else will.
- Show your love for Christ by acting as He would…be His hands and feet.

So, ask yourself these questions:
- What is your ‘Man of Action’ wish?
- What do you know that can make it true?
- How hard are you willing to work for it?

Join us for our 2023 Men IN Action READ! We are asking YOU to read a book to students at a local school on Thursday, March 16, 2023.
At the 2023 Men IN Action READ, we will send 450 men into schools throughout the county to read a book to students that focuses on positive family communication, school engagement, cultural competence and self-esteem.
You can have an impact by signing up to read and/or gifting this year’s book to the school corporation of your choice!

Sheltering Wings is specifically looking to recruit survivors of domestic abuse to serve on our board of directors or one of our committees. We value the insight of people who have lived experiences to help ensure we stay true to our mission and provide the most helpful and effective services for our clients.
