Lack of transportation is one challenge that can hold a survivor back from being truly independent. A gift of a fully operational automobile moves a survivor towards independence by providing a means to keep appointments, get children to daycare and maintain employment.
Vehicles donated must be driver-ready, transferrable and in good working condition to be considered. Sheltering Wings does not have funds available for repairs prior to the gifting. Due to liability, vehicles on our property cannot be uninsured or unregistered. We also must have a survivor who is ready for a vehicle (they can they plate it, insure it and have money for upkeep and gas).
