Lack of transportation can – and often does – hold a survivor back from financial security and independence. A gift of a fully operational car means a survivor and their kids can keep appointments, get to daycare, and maintain a job.
Vehicles donated must be ready to drive, transferrable, and in good working condition. Sheltering Wings cannot commit to significant car repairs, and we ask that donors have the vehicle evaluated by your mechanic prior to the donation. If you don’t have a preferred mechanic, we can refer you to a local mechanic who is willing to evaluate a car’s condition at a reduced diagnostic rate.
