Adverse Childhood Experiences ACEs is the term used to describe all types of traumatic experiences that occur to people under the age of 18. These experiences can be forms of abuse, neglect, household disparities or other potentially traumatic experiences.
As the ACE score increases, so does the risk for chronic health issues, depression, attempt suicide and other lasting impacts on the overall life span.
Adverse childhood experiences can impact the overall life span. Prolonged exposure to trauma can lead to problems with behavior, mental and physical health and success in school.
