“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love” (1 Corinthians 16:13-14).
Hello, Men IN Action!
As I travel, I have the opportunity to work with men all over the world. I have learned it doesn’t matter if you are from Europe, Asia, Africa or North America. If you are from a developed or developing country, we all suffer from some common problems.
Child abuse, divorce and the breakdown of family values have left our children searching for healthy male role models. The brokenness of our families fuels the brokenness in our world. It causes pain so deep that many people are prevented from turning to or returning to God.
Pornography, illegal drugs and the sex trade are rampant throughout the world. These behaviors are destroying bodies, the temples given by God, casting souls into darkness and contributing to child sexual abuse and mass incarceration. The demand for these activities is mainly driven by men. Understandably, this has created distrust of men among women and children.
The attack and persecution of Christianity and religious freedoms all over the world are in part because of the misrepresentation of Christianity by its own members. One consequence of this is atheism has become the fastest growing religion in the U.S.
As I study these problems, I notice one thing: men are the common dominator. If men are the cause, then men have to be a part of the solution.
It’s time for men to step up and take back our families, our children, our communities and our country. It’s time for men to take an active role in stopping the spread of child abuse, pornography, drug abuse and the sex trade industry. It’s up to men to stop the misrepresentation of Christianity throughout the world.
It’s time for men to be good role models and show the world what it means to be a man of God.
It’s time for, “Men IN Action.”
