As 2017 comes to an end, it is a time to reflect on accomplishments and also the items that never got checked off the resolution list.
One of the things I was always messing with this year was that all our toilets in my house took turns not working! It has been the year of the toilet in my handyman world, just like the Colts seasons. Of course, there have been many other great things from watching my kids get another year older and celebrating another anniversary to my amazing wife. One thing that has stood out this past year has been the birth of Men in Action by Sheltering Wings.
In a year where we have had sexual harassment and sexual assault charges every other week in the news and we watch the powerful #metoo movement fill up social media, we are blessed to have a community of men come together and say we are not going to stand for abuse of any kind in our workplaces, homes and the homes of our neighbors.
As you reflect on this past year I hope you see how you are now part of a powerful movement of being men of integrity and character. 2017 is still just the beginning of the Men IN Action movement and my hope is to see how this community will grow in 2018. I am excited to raise my two daughters in a community where they will be encouraged to be strong, creative, and a leader instead of taking a back seat. I am equally excited to raise a son in a community where he will grow up around men who will value all people no matter gender or race.
What a great beginning for Men IN Action and what an exciting year ahead of us, as we grow in love for one another.
